Why This Program Matters
Building Healthier & More Resilient Communities
Years of conflict and displacement disrupted health systems and reduced access to essential services across many communities in Northern Uganda. Vulnerable families may still face long distances to health facilities, limited health information, barriers to timely care, and inadequate psychosocial support.
Women, children, adolescents, and other vulnerable community members can be particularly affected by maternal and child health challenges, preventable illnesses, malnutrition, and the long-term psychological effects of conflict and displacement.
NUYEA works at community level to strengthen health awareness, promote appropriate health-seeking behavior, provide psychosocial support, connect communities with available services, and strengthen pathways to timely and appropriate care.NUYEA works at community level to strengthen health awareness, promote appropriate health-seeking behavior, provide psychosocial support, connect communities with available services, and strengthen pathways to timely and appropriate care.
